During the day, John works for Little Kids Rock, which helps fund a modern music education for inner city schools. Think School of Rock for schools that can’t afford it. By night, John is either trying to become the next Slash or Arnold Schwarzenegger, whichever comes first!
What is your favorite band? Favorite type of music?
Listening to “Appetite For Destruction” by Guns N Roses is what did me in. Specifically “Paradise City” and “Welcome to the Jungle.” Later on came Alice in Chains and Van Halen which sent me further down the rabbithole. I mostly like hard rock; the more in your face style blues/rock. The heaviest I really enjoy listening to (for now) is Pantera.
What are your five “desert island discs” that you’d want to have if stranded on an island?
“Appetite For Destruction” – Guns N Roses
“Facelift” – Alice in Chains
“Van Halen II” – Van Halen
“Blizzard of Ozz” – Ozzy Osbourne
“Boston” – Boston
What is the best live show you’ve ever seen?
Alice in Chains at the Beacon Theatre in 2016. They rocked that night and the venue was small enough for the sound to travel so smoothly. Although I am a bit biased because I love them.
Most memorable show you played at?
Summer of 2016, I played “War Pigs” with some coworkers in front of over 200 professional music teachers. The venue was awesome and the energy was top notch.
That’s me in the white shirt:
